Creating a Polygon Outline
This assumes that you have a TIN that you want to make an outline of.
In ArcScene, use: 3D Analyst Tools, Conversion, From TIN, TIN Edge - to make a poly ShapeFile (will include all lines from the triangles).
Edit the ShapeFile from above in ArcMap and delete all interior lines.
- Editor Menu, Start Editing.
- Task: Cut Polygon Features.
- You can actually highlight multiple lines and hit delete.
- Editor Menu, Save edits and Stop Editing
- Convert the polyshape into a polygon:
- Data Management Tools, Features, Feature to Polygon Tool
- Save the polygon by clicking OK
You can use this as a polygon in HowToCreateSolidPolygon.
