Dear Politicians

I would like to introduce you to the new rational normal. Why? Because we citizens like rational rules. Therefore, I respectfully request that you consider the following NEW NORMAL:

Wearing a Mask Using the Color Rules

  1. NO MASK INDICATES TO OTHERS THAT YOU ARE WELL.

  2. A GREEN STRIPE ACROSS THE TOP OF YOUR MASK INDICATES TO OTHERS THAT YOU ARE WELL - BUT BEING CAREFUL

  3. A YELLOW STRIPE ACROSS THE TOP OF YOUR MASK INDICATES THAT YOU ARE BEING CAREFUL FOR OTHER'S BENEFIT.

  4. A RED STRIPE ACROSS THE TOP OF YOUR MASK INDICATES THAT YOU ARE SICK WITH AN INFECTIOUS DISEASE. Like Covid-19 or the Flu, Cold etc.

Normal Expected Behavior

  1. If you are well and have not been exposed to someone sick to your knowledge. Go about your business as usual. If you wish to wear a mask because you are being careful or you are in the a high risk group and wish to wear a mask follow the Green Rule

  2. If you are unsure if you have come into contact with someone that is sick (like if you are a nurse dealing with people sick with infectious diseases) and you are concerned that you might be able to pass on the infectious disease to others, but are otherwise well, follow the yellow rule.

  3. If you are sick STAY HOME UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. But if you HAVE A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY, then you may go to a public place under the following conditions:

    1. Follow the red rule.

    2. DO NOT ENTER A NON-EMERGENCY, HEALTHCARE, BUILDING UNLESS TOLD TO DO SO BY AN EMPLOYEE OR OWNER. INSTEAD, ASK SOMEONE TO GO INSIDE AND SEND OUT SOMEONE THAT CAN HELP YOU. Better yet, order online and have it delivered.
    3. In order to comply with this requirement, we well people agree that we will do our best for those who are sick.
  4. Any business, home, organization of any kind, private, public, school or government may require that a person appearing sick must leave the premises. If a person is unwilling to comply with a leave request or cannot prove through reasonable means that they are indeed well, the owner or employees of the owner or other civil authorities may forcibly remove the offender. At the request of the owner or at the discretion of the civil authority, such an offender may be arrested and charged with infectious attempted homicide. At this point submitting to a temperature test should suffice to prove wellness, but if better tests come along that are not invasive, they could certainly be required.
  5. Businesses may require patrons to wear a mask, but must provide them if required.

OTHREWISE, it should be business as usual.

Of course, you are perfectly within your rights to ignore this rational suggestion, but come election time, you may be the one given the stay at home order.
